What are Success Profiles?

The Civil Service uses a selection framework called Success Profiles to recruit. This framework helps us find the right person for each role, improve performance, and enhance diversity and inclusivity. Success Profiles consist of five elements:

  • Behaviours: Actions and activities that lead to effective performance.
  • Strengths: Things we do regularly, do well, and that motivate us.
  • Ability: The potential to perform to the required standard.
  • Experience: Knowledge or mastery of an activity gained through involvement or exposure to it.
  • Technical: Specific professional skills, knowledge, or qualifications.

For more information, you can watch our video. You can also find more information on our How to Apply page.

Other frameworks used for specific job roles will be detailed within the job advert.
